iPod not required.

I ran the second quarter of the river marathon today. The section starts off on the bottom of many steep, long hills with several rocks that you have to navigate through; it can be quite dangerous if you are not watching your foot placement. You run along the top of a ridge for about seven kilometers and then down through a nice trail for three more. Watch for bees, another lady and I were stung.

This was probably the best run I've had this season in a sense that it was about 25 degrees Celsius, and that the scenery was unreal. Also runner’s high hit me in the first few minutes leaving me feeling light, and quick on my feet. It was so quiet and peaceful that all I could hear was the footfall and the breathing of the other runners on the trail. For the first time in a long time I was able to turn my thoughts off and focus on my run. I forgot about my heartache and relationship dilemmas, and that I had a mortgage I can’t afford. Most importantly though, I forgot I was in a dark place.
